Here is among the more scarce items of Royal memorabilia.  It's a plate celebrating the coronation of King Edward the VIII.  This coronation never actually took place as he abdicated in December, 1936.  Good old Aynsley was out ahead of the game though and had items made as of course they would have to be ready for sale "on the day".  These may very well even have been officially sold as the crowning was certainly going to take place.  It just didn't.  The plate measures 8 1/4" corner to corner, 7" across.  It's in good condition with the Aynsley mark visible on the back.

There is a certain amount of currency from Commonwealth countries that bear his image and that is not actually incorrect as he WAS King for a few very short months but this plate celebrates an even that didn't actually take place.

Best of luck and thanks for looking at one of my auctions.
