Yakushi Nyorai Honzon

Yakushi Nyorai is the Buddha of healing and medicine in Mahāyāna Buddhism. Commonly referred to as the "Medicine Buddha", he is described as a doctor who cures dukkha (suffering) using the medicine of his teachings. Healing sentient beings from illness of all sorts, protecting those from natural disasters, and providing the needs as well as saving those in poverty are some of his 12 vows.
