LIFE'S PICTURES: Alfred Eisenstaedt is fascinated by America. German-born, he has seen more of the American landscape than most natives. A high point of his travels was his trip to photograph George Washington's home at Mount Vernon (pp. 116-123). Eisenstaedt was particularly impressed with view of the Potomac from Washington's bedroom window. Next Sept, 3 Eisenstaedt will celebrate his 15th anniversary as a professional photographer.
