It is a lovely miniature religious easel plaque,  in an ornate silver frame with the Madonna and Child in the center. This is known in the Greek Orthodox tradition as Theotokos Amolyntos, or The Virgin Mary, Undefiled.

The plaque has a glass fronted hollow interior in which may be discerned some sort of relic: perhaps a cloth saturated in holy oil or particles of sand wrapped in paper, most likely from a pilgrimage site in Greece.

There is an old inventory label on the reverse indicating the plaque was made for export in GREECE; the label also acts as a sort of seal for the interior contents of the plaque.

This is miniature in size, measuring 3 1/8” long (including the two silver footings in ball format), 2 1/2” wide, and approx 5/8” deep.

Probably vintage 1960s in age, if not older - the plaque is graded in Almost Fine condition; with one tiny ding noted on the upper edge of the interior frame only- an unusual and evocative piece of religious art.
