soft cover. Full complete copy. Fine condition, book without library stamps, registrations, notes and underlines,
infrequent foxing (fox stains, paper oxidation), abrasions and slight contamination of the cover, repair of the spine, traces of time (see figures).

This book was published in the same publishing house "Ars" (Art) as the previous album "16 songs of Bilitis". Unlike "Erotika" and "Bilitis"
the print run of this book is not indicated and unknown [ca. 1,500 copies]. This collection consists of 16 short stories and sketches in Latvian.
For obvious reasons, no one will read this book, its dignity is different: in 8 Vidberg's drawings on separate sheets of coated paper
and bibliophile value.

    Books of the famous erotic trilogy of Sigismund Widberg:
1. "Erotica". Publisher "Saule". It was printed in the printing house "Latvian Culture" in Riga in 1926 with a print run of 1,500 copies.
2. "16 songs of Belitis" [Lesbian love]. Publishing house "Ars". Printed at the Latvian Culture Printing House in Riga in 1928
     in the amount of 550 numbered registered copies.
3. "KAMA SUTRA". Publishing house "Ars". It was repurchased in the printing house "Latvian Culture" in Riga in 1931 in quantity
    401 numbered registered instance.

   Sigismunds Vidbergs (1890 - 1970) - the most prominent representative of the graphic art Art Deco, one of the most original Latvian
20th century artists whose creative heritage is notable for its versatility. He created in the field of easel and applied graphics,
porcelain murals, book and magazine illustrations and commercial drawings. His work is dominated by the ink technique.
The artist covered a wide range of topics: historical and modern motifs, urban and rural life, religious scenes, portraits,
studies of architecture and nature. Nevertheless, Widbergs is the most famous in the general panorama of Latvian art for its
an elegant interpretation of erotic motifs, preserving the classic sense of proportion, even when solving very risky topics.

    Richard Berzins (1888 - 1942) was the founder, writer and active member of the first Latvian news agency LETA.
In the literary community, R. Berzins is known under the pseudonym Richard Valdes. At the end of 1920, LETA began publishing
illustrated magazine and published reviews of theater and ballet performances, as well as descriptions of works of art and talented
artists already known or appearing in Latvia. R. Berzins also worked a lot as a translator, using his knowledge of languages.
From 1926 to 1927 R. Valdes published a number of short stories - “Portofino” and “The End of the Harpsichord”, “Alina”, “Rute”, 
“Candidate of Theology Boldhead”. With the addition of short stories “Tragedy at Sea” and “Beatrice from Klaipeda Street” in 1927 
collection of short stories was published and the novel Tragedy at Sea. In 1929, the book of short stories and miniatures "Sad Cafe" 
was published, including 16 short stories. In 1930, two novels, The Ninth Wave and Sea Wolves, were published. In 1934, a selection 
of travel notes was published called "Spotted World." The unfinished works of R. Valdez are also known - the novel "Yucan", 
the three-act play "The Eternal Bride" and the novel "The Gutman Family."

мягкая обложка. Комплектный экземпляр. Состояние хорошее, книга без библиотечных печатей, регистраций, пометок и подчёркиваний,
нечастые фоксинги (лисьи пятна, окисление бумаги), потёртости и незначительные загрязнения обложки, ремонт корешка, следы времени (см. рисунки).

Эта книга вышла в том же издательстве "Арс"(Искусство), что и предшествующий альбом "16 песен Билитис". В отличии от  "Эротики" и "Билитис"
тираж этой книги не указан и неизвестен [предположительно 1,500 экз.]. Данный сборник состоит из 16 коротких рассказов и зарисовок на латышском языке.  
По понятным всем причинам никто эту книгу читать не будет, достоинство её в другом: в 8 рисунках Видберга на отдельных листах мелованной бумаги
и библиофильской ценности.

Сигизмунд Видберг (1890 - 1970) - самый заметный представитель графического искусства Art Deco, один из самых оригинальных латвийских
художников 20-го века, чье творческое наследие отличается своей универсальностью. Он создал в области станковой и прикладной графики,
росписи фарфора, книжных и журнальных иллюстраций и коммерческих рисунков. В его работах доминирует техника рисования тушью.
Художник затрагивал широкий круг тем: исторические и современные мотивы,городская и сельская жизнь, религиозные сцены, портреты,
исследования архитектуры и природы. Тем не менее, Видбергс является самым известным в общей панораме Латвийское искусство за его
элегантную интерпретацию эротических мотивов, сохраняющее классическое чувство меры даже при решении очень рискованных тем.

Рихард Берзиньш (1888 - 1942) был основателем, писателем и активным членом первого латвийского информационного агентства LETA.
В литературном сообществе Р. Берзиньш известен под псевдонимом Рихард Вальдес. В конце 1920 года издательство LETA начало издавать
иллюстрированный журнал и публиковало обзоры театральных и балетных спектаклей, а также описания произведений искусства и талантливых
артистов, уже известных или появляющихся в Латвии. Р. Берзиньш также много работал переводчиком, используя свои знания языков.
С 1926 по 1927 год Р. Вальдес опубликовал ряд рассказов - «Портофино» и «Конец клавесина», "Алина", "Руте", "Кандидат богословия Болдхед".
С добавлением коротких рассказов «Трагедия на море» и «Беатрис с улицы Клайпеды» в 1927 году был опубликован сборник рассказов
и роман «Трагедия на море». В 1929 году была опубликована книга рассказов и миниатюр "Печальное кафе", включающее 
16 коротких рассказов.В 1930 году были опубликованы два романа «Девятая волна» и «Морские волки». В 1934 году была опубликована 
подборка путевых заметок под названием «Пятнистый мир». Известны также незаконченные произведения Р. Вальдеса - роман «Юкан», 
трехактная пьеса «Вечная невеста» и роман «Семья Гутмана».
