ABOUT THIS ISSUE:
The innocent victim of the automobile accident described in the opening paragraphs of TEEN-AGE DRINKING was editor-at-large BILL DAVIDSON's own banker. The crash occurred less than half a mile from the author's home and prompted him to write to Connecticut Gov. John Dempsey, who recommended his appointment to a Traffic Safety Committee in the Danbury-New Fairfield, Conn., area. Shortly afterward Davidson began his nationwide survey of the teen- age drinking problem... In the picture at right, CIRCUS! author BILL BALLANTINE reveals his former occupation -- he worked with circuses from 1946 to 1954. . . . V. S. NAIPAUL describes a return trip to his native India. A graduate of Oxford, he lives in Trinidad. His writings have won several prizes, including the 1961 Somerset Maugham Award./ LAWRENCE J. SCHILLER's cover photograph shows six favorite attractions of the Ringling Brothers, Barnum & Bailey Circus.
