This is an auction for a large oval Silver pocket box made for Tobacco or Snuff, its very elaborate with a very detailed design which has what looks to be dancing deity with also mermaids around the side? very unusual box, the back then has a large hand engraved panel with what looks to be a 4 headed Bird?

From a glance the box looks to be Siamese or Indo China in some form but the bird on the back looks more Islamic in origin?

The condition is original and it has a great original patina, it has wear that you would expect for a box that is possibly over 200 years old 

I just thought the quality and detail along with the wonderful original condition made for a very interesting find, its not marked anywhere I can see but it does test as high grade Silver on a non invasive machine.
