Description:
Old copper printers stamp mounted to a solid lead block. Measures approx 3.75" x 1.5". This has been used but is untested. The stamp says V.F.W. facing one way, and then flipped around it says Veterans Of Foreign Wars Of The U.S.A. with a VFW emblem. The very bottom is a little smashed in but has a block that says An Association Of Men Who Fought Americas Foreign...and the rest is illegible. There are many pits and marks on the lead and both ends are crunched in a bit. Details on the stamp are sharp and not worn down. The stamp is raised and made of copper. A beautiful stamp for a collector of old printing blocks or Americana history. This is a stamp I have not come across before, it seems to be a very rare gem! This is a pre owned, vintage item. Expect signs of use and wear. Light has been enhanced to help show details, stamp may appear darker in person.
