OFFERED IS A GORGEOUS LARGE CASED TURQUOISE VASE MADE WITH A DIAMOND OPTIC PATTERN. THE LOVELY COLOR GRADUALLY DARKENS TOP TO BOTTOM AND THE SIZE OF THE DIAMOND SHAPES DIMINISHES FROM TOP TO BOTTOM. THE INTERIOR IS WHITE. VIEWERS, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THE COLOR YOU SEE IN THE PHOTOS IS A LITTLE DARKER AND IS NOT QUITE AS BRIGHT THAN IT APPEARS VIEWED WITH THE NAKED EYE. THE SURFACE IS SMOOTH AT THE TOP AND THE MIDDLE AND THE TEXTURE STARTS TO APPEAR ON THE WAY DOWN, THE MOST BEING ON THE BASE. AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PHOTOS THE FORM IS BULBOUS IN THE CENTER AND NARROWS TOWARDS THE BASE. THE TOP IS FINISHED WITH A RUFFLED EDGE. THE BOTTOM OF THE VASE SETTLES INTO A FLAT BASE WITH NO PONTIL SO I PRESUME THAT THE VASE WAS CREATED WITH A MOLDED TECHNIQUE. THERE IS NO LABEL SO I CANNOT PROVIDE THE COUNTRY OF ORIGIN, AGE OR MAKER. I HOPE A KNOWLEDGEABLE MEMBER CAN FILL IN THE BLANKS. A GLASS EXPERT HAS ADVISED THAT THIS VASE IS MURANO EMPOLI. THE MEASUREMENTS:
Approximately 10 1/4" high, 8" at the widest point, 5 3/4" across the top crimp to crimp and 4 3/8" across the base. The weight is just about 1 pound 15.4 oz. The completed carton will ship Priority insured at the 4 pound rate.
THE CONDITION:
Considering that this vase has likely passed through several owners over the years before me, the overall condition is excellent with some very minor quibbles described below. The glass has good clarity and color and is nice and shiny. ●●●Please allow the photos to guide you as they are the lion’s share of this description.●●● This is what I see to describe: there are a couple of very faint small scratches only visible when the vase is examined at an angle under a bright light; there are a couple of tiny internal bubbles; and there is a very small amount of faint friction wear around the base edge. ●●●I hope I have not missed anything. If I did, it was surely minor and 100% unintentional.●●● Just about 99% of the collectibles I offer are vintage/pre-owned and may show a small amount of use. I never list items with serious damage or flaws. I often heighten the contrast in my pictures to bring out all the details.
