Wolf triple DCF tarp 200g-228g 2.7mx3m

The big bad wolf – by most people’s standards 200g is ultralight for a postage stamp sized solo tarp, but hold up – the wolf triple is a full size feature packed beast.

The mentally lightweight nature of the tarp is down to the dyneema composite fabric it is made from. Dyneema is the strongest fiber on earth, you don’t need much to make an obnoxiously strong, obnoxiously light tarp. Given its high strength and 15K waterproof rating, as well as its refusal to stretch and ease of repair and customisation DCF makes a cutting edge tarp fabric.

Dyneema has many advantages over silnylon: i'ts up to 10X more waterproof, potentially stronger, lighter, but most importantly it won't stretch if it gets wet like silnylon. silnylon tarps stretch if they get wet and so can flap around and even collapse during a rainstorm - which is when you need their protection most! None of that with DCF.

In stock but still customisable, the tarps have 21 tie outs as standard (more or less can be added for free, just ask!). All my wolf tarps are made in Britain to high standards.

Fabric

Use the drop down to select fabric. specifics as follows:

• 0.51oz DCF. Olive.   200g 100XT dyneema content. The best strength to weight ratio.
• 0.67oz DCF. Camo   228g 100XT dyneema content. 28g heavier than olive due to ink, same strength but great stealthy and pretty much opaque.

Which fabric do I choose? 0.51oz Olive is the best choice, it is as light as possible but still strong. 0.67 Camo is exactly the same as olive but 28g of heavy ink has been blasted on. Great for stealth. If you want help choosing, feel free to eBay message me :)

Tie outs

• ·       The default option is for 21 tie outs. 5 in the middle, 16 along the edge.
• ·       I can add more tie outs for free, or I can make a tarp with fewer to save weight. An edge tie out is 1.5g, an interior tie out is 3g. Just ask and I’ll add them.
• ·        If you’d like to add more tie outs or a loop for a lantern you can simply stick them on – I sell full strength adhesive tie outs in my other listings.

 All wolf triple tarps have:

• ·        21 reinforced tie outs, 5 interior, 16 perimeter (I can add more for free or you can stick them on, see above. Made with tough polyester webbing).
• ·       3X2.7m (10’X9’) size, comfortable for three, a palace for one. Smaller Wolf solo and duo DCF tarps are available. Check out my custom tarp listing for custom tarps in any size!
• ·       DCF is also fully repairable with included tape, if you have a little accident with embers from the fire you can fix it no problem. Loops and extra tie outs can easily be stuck on
• ·       Fully stitch hemmed.
• ·       Carefully made in Britain to exceptionally high standards. The hemming is gun straight, the stitches clean and elegant. It doesn't just look pretty though, the weight and strength are unrivaled too, and it's lead time free!

 Technical

• ·       Waterproof HH15,000+ that’s ten times better than many silnylons!
• ·       Super strong dyneema composite fabric (cuben fibre) 15X stronger than steel. 100XT dyneema content, with 500XT reinforcements. No stretch.

Dimensions

• ·       3m long (10 feet) X 2.7m wide (9 feet) – a comfortable fit for three, tons of space for anything less.
• ·       Tiny 200g weight (7oz) olive. 233g in camo (8oz).
• ·       21 DCF reinforced tie outs. (or more, or less if you’d like, just ask!)

Postage (may be impacted by the pandemic)

• ·       Free 1st class UK and international postage. (1-2 days UK)
• ·       International postage (free) takes 3-7 days to arrive.
• ·       Same day dispatch. Most customisations will take less than a day.

The "camo" option is realtree camo - leaves, branches, bark etc on a brown background, it is one of the most effective forms of camo commonly used by wildlife photographers, so if you don't like tactical or military camo, do not worry, this is not a tactical pattern.

About Wild Sky Gear

Wild Sky Gear was started by Skye McGregor, a British 15 year old who hiked Lands’ End to John O'Groats solo. I hiked through the winter and to keep my pack light started making my own gear and then sold some of the surplus.
