A tribute to the Maryland state fish, the Rockfish, who lives in the Chesapeake Bay watershed and migrates to the Atlantic ocean. Also called a striped bass, it is known for its size and fighting ability. It is considered one of the premier sport species on the Bay. The rockfish has an olive green back, fading to light silver on its side and a white underside. The hallmark is seven to eight dark, continuous stripes running from head to tail.
