This lens is the solution if your color CCD or CMOS cameras see a significant amount of unwanted IR light resulting in strange color reproduction. The additional IR-Cut filter on this lens can drastically improve the video images to produce true color in day light or good lighting condition.
This 8mm monofocal fixed iris board mount lens provides maximum 40° viewable angle with 1/3" format image sensor. It also supports ¼” format image sensor for up to 25% less of the maximum viewable angle. This lens supports surveillance camera with IR night vision capability and it is ideal for viewing of a very large indoor/outdoor area.

When installing wide angle lenses, depending on the camera, its infared may not be able to cover everything.
If installed, most likely, the infrared will only work for the mid region, the part that is covered, when looking at the footage.
