I found the patent the company took out for this cool modular candle holder design kit. It was dated late February, 1974. On this version of the product, it says patent pending and subject to change. This seems to be a rare earlier release as I have seen only a handful of these still around in their original packaging and most of the other ones I have seen were actually different from this one. it says 34 parts and those are present, but the picture on the box shows more parts than are available inside. I guess you were supposed to combine kits to grow the size of your build. Also interesting to vintage product enthusiasts, the packaging shows white opaque units but the package contents are actually clear plastic units.I'm thinking this was a prototype and produced before the dyes were used or different plastic to produce a different looking product.  it is sealed and has never been opened. The candles seem to have undergone a warp from heat... possibly could be straightened out with a little heat or you could substitute standard size candles which are not hard to find...I think Ikea produces packages in this size very cheaply.  I did see a very few (like two or three) super tiny long dead insects as this was probably stored in someone's attic. I didn't want to go ripping the plastic apart in case someone wanted this in the original sealing. I imagine these modulars would be fun to use in an imaginative way for making an ikebana arrangement. this was actually produced by a company in Switzerland and presumably marketed in Europe only. But it has that Danish modern sensibility to it. should be of great interest to design enthusiasts and particularly vintage design enthusiasts. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
