Charlie + Wobbs

Dislike cliches? Awkward much? Midwestern a little? All of the above? Here's your sign…

Made entirely from top-quality hardwoods, no Home Depot lumber here folks… you have a choice of a white oak, cherry, maple, or mahogany frame. Finished with a plant-based furniture butter (note, it’s not actually butter) that pulls out the natural tones and colors of the wood. The background is constructed from high-quality 1/4” Baltic Birch plywood and painted to look just a wee bit distressed. Comes with a pre-installed sawtooth hanger for easy installation in any part of your home that needs just a touch of Midwestern sarcasm.

+

Because the majority of the sign comes from natural materials the item in the pictures will not look exactly 100% like the item you receive. Grain patterns, features, colors, etc. can vary a bit from piece to piece and even from one side of the wood to the other. These spiffy hunks of timber are handcrafted with great attention to detail but they’re still as unique as a unicorn on a leap day.

+

Included in the box along with the sign is an explanation of the origins of “Ope” and what makes it such a wonderful word to use in any less than graceful situation. Makes a great gift for the Midwesterner, nerd, or other socially awkward person in your life.

Handmade from maple, paint, and dry humor | 23.5 x 10.5 x 1.13” (597 x 267 x 29 mm) | 2.5 lbs. (1.13 kg)

Giving Back

At Charlie + Wobbs, trees are kinda our thing. Not only do trees provide the beautiful pieces of wood that goes into all of our products, but they also help provide the cardboard our boxes are made from, the paper packing material to keep everything safe during shipment, the cardstock our flyers are printed on, the paper towels used during production, and most importantly, the air we breathe just to be alive. We'd kinda be up a creek without a paddle, wooden or otherwise, without them. When properly managed, trees are an amazing and 100% renewable resource... really the ultimate renewable resource; products derived from them literally grow on trees! And to help preserve them Charlie + Wobbs pledges to donate one percent of the revenue of every order to non-profit organizations whose missions are sustainable forestry and mitigating the effects of climate change. This way we can help keep the forests of the world growing forward.
