Modern Kintsugi repair kit
Description
Clean the cracked parts. (The adhesive property gets weakened when the surface is rough.)
●STEP2●Prepare the putty (synthetic resin).
The synthetic resin consists of two layers,
the white layer and the gray layer.
It will not harden if it is not thoroughly mixed.
Knead the putty(synthetic resin).
Measure out enough putty to repair the
chipped parts, and roll the putty quickly with
your fingers.
Knead the putty until it becomes uniformly
one color (about 1 minute)
●STEP4●Fill the chipped parts.
Once the putty(synthetic resin) is uniform
color, roll it into a small ball shape and press
it against the chipped part.The size of a small
ball shape which is slightly larger than the
chipped part leads good finish.
●STEP5●Finish the surface.
The putty (synthetic resin) hardens very
quickly.
The trick is to finish filling the chipped parts
in about three minutes or less.
●STEP6●
Sand with water-resistant paper.
Sand the surface while lubricating
the water-resistant paper with
clean water.
Be careful not to scratch other objects.
●STEP7●
Mix gold powder and Shin Urushi(new
Japanese lacquer)
Mix using a one to one ratio between golden
powder and Shin Urushi(new Japanese
lacquer) .
Adjust the concentration by adding som
drops of diluent.
The concentration is perfect when the

Put golden lacquer on the putty
(synthetic resin).
Apply the new gold Japanese
lacquer so that it completely
covers the sealant.
It is "placing" rather than "painting".
●STEP9●
Dry in the open air for one or two days,
then it's done.
Polish part of Kintsugi golden joinery) by a
soft cloth with olive oil to make it shine.
Do not put in the microwave or in the
dishwasher.
