This drive is compatible with any laptops that accept 2.5" x 7mm (Thin/Case) SATA drives or any desktops. Also can be used as portable drive if used with an USB caddy.
This version of the 500GB WD BLUE is used for Mobile PC use, this latest generation is just 7mm in height with a 2.5 inch form factor, this helps the drive to be thin and light and is compatible with most 9.5 mm drive bays. The drive has a rotation speed of 5400 rpm. The WD BLUE Mobile PC HDD’s technical highlight is it’s 6Gb/s interface, which is the latest SATA III standard. This drive in particular has a storage capacity of 500GB and has a 8MB Cache with an access time of 5.5 ms.
The WD BLUE 7 mm hard drives have a performance increase of 16% compared to the previous generation WD BLUE harddrives, it also boasts 12% longer battery life this is due to WD engineers pushing the boundaries and developing a drive so advanced, this combination of unique challanges allowed WD to create a slim and compact drive.
