512GB iPod Classic 7th Generation | 2200mAh Battery & Flash Memory - Silver/Black
With Headphones and Charging Cable | 2 Year Warranty
Installed in a Slim-type case - maximum 2200mAh battery size

User-upgradeable SD card Storage

Fully refurbished and restored iPod classic, utilising the iFlash SD card adapter holding 2 x 256GB micro SD cards in space of the original 160GB hard disk drive.

Flash storage allows the iPod to not only hold vastly more songs, but also access them quicker (reducing load times for songs and menus). In addition, it saves on power consumption and prevents the risk of data loss if the iPod is dropped, since there are no moving parts remaining.

If you wish, the SD cards can be replaced. Capacities of 2TB are possible with SD cards currently on the market. SD card sizes can be mixed-and-matched depending on what you require.

Brand-new High Capacity Battery

Also refurbished with a new purpose-built 2200mAh battery, replacing the original 750mAh battery. The original iPod classic battery was rated to last for 30 hours of continuous playback - with the higher capacity battery and lower-power storage, this iPod can easily last more than 100 hours on a single charge! This is the largest standard battery that can be installed in a Slim (7th Generation) type housing. Versions with 3000mAh batteries can be found with a Thick (6th Generation) type case.

Fully Refurbished Exterior

The front and back housing has also been replaced with new-old stock parts, and the rear has been etched to reflect the new capacity. The only 'original' components remaining are the circuits - everything else is completely new and unused.

Compatible with iTunes / OSX Music

Apple has continued to allow all of its iPods to work seamlessly with modern iTunes versions (and the Music app that has replaced it on OSX). This iPod is fully compatible, and will sync just as before, with access to the whole 512GB.

Bear in mind that since apple only made 30 pin cables with USB 2.0, syncing across a full 512GB will take a while. It's recommended to sync in steps the first time if you have a very large library.

Song Limits

iPod classic can access the full 512GB of storage space without issue. However, due to the way Apple designed its music library system, all iPods have a 'maximum' song capacity.

For iPod classic, this capacity is around 40,000 to 50,000 songs (or approximately 100 days of music). This is due to the limited RAM of the iPod, which is where the iPod stores the database of songs.

If you store your music in .mp3 files, you might find that you reach the song limit before the full 512GB is used. If you store your music in .ALAC files, you will likely fill the 512GB before you reach the song limit.
