Wild Sky Gear DCF wallet zip pouches: I’ve sewn nearly 1000 of my wallet zip pouches! They’re just so versatile and hyperlight that everyone needs them! Now I’ve updated the design with taped seams, my secret UL techniques, a YKK AQUAGUARD® zip from Japan and increased the variety of dyneema fabrics on offer.

Ideal as a nice wallet for hikers, it’ll take your cards and a wad of cash quite happily. Small pen knives, SD cards, sim cards etc are also great to fit, and it makes a smart repair kit or tinder pouch :)

Specs

·      Made from 1.43oz (50g/m2) or 2.92oz (100g/m2) DCF (formerly “cuben fibre”). This elusive fabric, made in just one factory in the USA, is made from dyneema - the strongest fibre on earth (at 15X stronger than steel)! This makes it ferociously strong, yet hyperlightweight. It is also waterproof to over 20,000mm – that’s 10X better than some silnylons!

·      500XT dark dyneema content – very tough, used in bear bags

·      Built to last for years even in regular use

·      Hand tied pull saves weight vs cheap moulded pulls

·      YKK AQUAGUARD® Zip

·      Proudly handmade in Britain

·      Triple stitched, taped seams

·      Skye’s secret ultralight techniques give you the same size for less weight

·      5.8g (1/5oz) for all 1.43oz DCF colours, 6.8g (1/4oz) for all 2.92oz DCF colours. Pretty much as light as it gets!

·      11cmx8.5cm (4.5”x3.5”)

Which fabric do I choose?

2.92oz DCF is the same as 1.43oz DCF, except is has a 50D polyester face adding toughness, a gram of weight, and making it non see though. If you want to see through your wallet and save weight, get the 1.43oz DCF. If you want bomb proof and opaque, go for 2.92oz, it is the same stuff used in backpacks.

About Wild Sky Gear

Wild Sky Gear was started by Skye McGregor, a British 15 year old who hiked Lands’ End to John O'Groats solo. I hiked through the winter and to keep my pack light started making my own gear and then sold some of the surplus. This turned out to be a bit more successful than I had anticipated, and now I’m constantly sewing.

PS: I really appreciate feedback on my items and service. Please let me know how everything is - I love hearing about how you're using my gear and the adventures you're going on :)

Whilst all the fabrics are waterproof, the seams are taped and it has a YKK aquaguard zip, water is still very sneaky so protect anything moisture sensitive with a zip loc bag.
