Description

The Hydro-Boost is powered by hydraulic pressure from the power steering pump. It requires 'no vacuum'. This has several advantages. No external vacuum pump required on low vacuum high performance motors. No 'small bore' master required. Firewall and valve cover clearance is increased. Frame mounted clearance is increased.
Frame mounted Hydro-Boosts® are the same width as a master cylinder, giving additional exhaust clearance.

The Hydro-Boost® can be fitted any where a vacuum booster will fit. It can use stainless braided hoses or rubber type and brackets are available for most applications.
The Hydro-Boost® uses fluid pressure from the existing power steering pump. The average power steering pump puts out from 800psi to 1400psi. The Hydro-Boost® uses this pressure that is always circulating through it, to convert to pressure to apply against the master cylinder. The output of the Hydro-Boost® is affected by three factors.

1. The pedal ratio. We prefer that the pedal ratio be between 6:1 to 7:1.
2. The pressure output from the pump.
3. The master cylinder bore diameter. These are factors necessary to design the system that will work for a given application.

It is imperative that the system be clean. Any residual metallic sediment laying in an old pump or steering box, will be floated up and through the system when the fluid comes through on start up. If any of this sediment lodges in the relief valve of the pump, there will be no pressure from the pump. This will result in hard steering and no power brakes.

Kit includes:
• Hydro Power brake booster with firewall mount brackets, push rod and pedal clevis (1964-72 gm A body)

• 1" bore aluminum black powder coated GM 9/16 & 1/2 master cylinder 

 Brand new ball milled flat top BLACK master cylinder. This master cylinder has a 1" Bore. Mounting holes measure 3 3/8" center to center. This works great for most disc/disc applications. 

 This is a four port master cylinder, so you can use the ports on whichever side you need and block the others. It includes plugs for the ports you do not use. This is a great upgrade over a standard GM style master.

  • This kit includes a Disc/Disc Proportioning Valve Kit. This combination proportioning valve is for Disc/Disc applications. This valve performs all the necessary functions when using disc brakes in the front and disc brakes in the rear.

    This valve will reduce braking pressure to the rear when necessary to prevent the brakes from locking up. It also distributes the brake pressure evenly so that the disc brakes are not doing all the work. This valve will also act as residual pressure for the rear disc brakes, allowing for better responsiveness when the brakes are applied. Finally, this valve offers the brake warning light switch to alert you if there is any failure in the braking system.

    This valve is a great upgrade over the original and is a must when upgrading from drum to disc brakes. This is a GM style valve, but will work on almost any Ford, Mopar, Chevy, or whatever, as long as you have the right fittings. This light weight valve is constructed from Solid Aluminum with a Black Finish.
