This is an original First World War period fund raising flag pin badge .

This is a Church Army  Flag Hut Day badge from  the year 1917.

The badge was sold, by the Church Army, to raise funds to build temporary  huts, in London, to offer cheap accommodation for servicemen on leave(especially Americans)

The pin is rusty and the paper  carded flag ( 30  mm wide ) a little frayed and age worn.
However, it is fairly firm and still retains it's colour,if a little faded, from over a hundred years ago.

Fairly rare item when you consider the throwaway  and fragility nature of these badges.

Good authentic piece of First World War history
