Choosing a Gauge

Gauge refers to the thickness of the post that is inserted into the piercing. When choosing a gauge size it's best to measure one that you already have that fits nicely, with a caliper. If you do not have one, you can use a standard ruler with millimeters
14G - 1.6mm (Thickest)
16G - 1.2mm18G - 1.0mm
20G - 0.8mm
22G - 0.6mm (Thinnest)

Choosing a Nose Stud Style

Straight Stud -15mm Post - Choose this style if you would like to bend the item yourself into a nose screw style or have someone do it for you. These are not meant to wear straight. Straight Stud -10mm Post - Choose this style if you would like to bend the item yourself into a standard L Bend style or have someone do it for you. These are not meant to wear straight. Nose Bone - This style comes with a small ball on the end to keep the jewelry from falling out. The ball is approximately 1 gauge thicker than the rest of the post. Right Nostril Nose Screw- Right Nostril Nose Screw will bend to the LEFT side when the design is in front of you facing towards you. Left Nostril Nose Screw- A Left Nostril Nose Screw will bend to the RIGHT side when the design is in front of you facing towards you. L Bend -The L Bend is the most popular choice offering comfortable insertion with an L style bend in order to keep the jewelry secure.

The Nose Hugger®

The Nose Hugger® style is meant to give the look of a hoop style nose ring without having to wrap fully around the nostril. The benefits are both ease of insertion, comfort for regular wear and a style that will stay securely in place without having to adjust and center the design as you would a regular style hoop.

How to Wear a Nose Hugger®

Place your nose hugger® in your piercing the same way you would any other nose jewelry. The sizing is set to a standard average however we understand that not all noses are created equally so if you find that the bottom of the hugger does not wrap around your nostril nicely, you can bend the design to your specifics but it is important not to bend the post or hold onto the post while adjusting the design as this may cause breakage. If you need to adjust your Nose Hugger® please watch the following video tutorial by pasting the link below into your search bar.

Choosing a Nose Ring Style

Open hoops have a opening within the ring and a small ball on the end to keep the jewelry secure. These can be inserted from the inside of the nostril and threaded through. Seamless hoops offer a cut within the circle that is bent only to insert the jewelry, then bent back for the nose ring to be complete circle within the nose piercing. Segment rings have a small section of the jewelry that is removable for insertions. Clicker rings offer a similar removable segment but the segment remains attached to the ring by a hinge. Septum Rings are designed to wear in the middle section of the nose between the two nostrils. They also come in several hoop designs including segment rings, seamless rings and our most popular, the septum clickers.

Choosing a Diameter

The diameter of a nose hoop is the distance from inside edge to inside edge across the widest portion of a hoop. If your piercing is higher up, or if your nose is on the large side, a nose ring with a larger diameter would suit you better than one with a small diameter. If you don't have a hoop to measure that fits you just right, you can measure your piercing with a standard ruler in millimeters. Stand in front of the mirror and place the ruler on your nose to measure the distance between the piercing hole and the edge of the nostril. This will be the smallest inner diameter that you can wear and it will fit snugly. For a looser fit, add 1mm-2mm to your measurement. 1/4" - 6mm 9/32" - 7mm 5/16" - 8mm 3/8" - 9mm-10mm

Wearable Post Lengths

The wearable post length for nose jewelry is the length of the post that will physically sit in the piercing. Screws and L Bends will be measured just under the stone where the post begins, to where the post bends. The nose bone is measured from just under the stone to just before the ball on the end. Nose Screws - Standard length 6mm-6.5mm L Bends - Standard length 6mm-6.5mm Straight - 10mm or 15mm Length (these are meant to be customized prior to inserting.) Nose Bones -Standard length 6mm-6.5mm unless otherwise stated. The wearable post length on the majority of our Straight Studs, Nose Screws and L Bends can be customized.

Choosing a Diamond

Diamonds are the result of carbon exposed to tremendous heat and pressure deep within the earth. This process can result in a variety of internal characteristics called ‘inclusions’. Evaluating diamond clarity involves determining the number, size, relief, nature, and position of these characteristics, as well as how they affect the overall appearance of the stone. VVS1-VVS2 – Very, Very Slightly Included: Inclusions so slight they are difficult for a skilled grader to see under 10x magnification. VS1-VS2 – Very Slightly Included: Inclusions are observed with effort under 10x magnification, but can be characterized as minor. SI – Slightly Included: Inclusions are noticeable under 10x magnification but are rarely seen with the naked eye.

Choosing a Stone Size

If you are looking for a larger or smaller stone size in a particular color and cannot find it in our store please contact us before making your purchase to see if it is available. 1-1.5mm - Smallest Stone 2mm - Standard Stone 2.5mm - Medium Stone 3mm - Large Stone 3.5mm - Very Large Stone

Choosing a Precious Metal

When choosing a precious metal it is a good idea to match it to your preferred jewelry style. The Karat of the gold refers to its purity. The higher the Karat the closer to pure gold the jewelry piece will be. Higher purity also results in a softer, more pliable metal. We offer 14K, 18K, and 24K Yellow, White and Rose Gold. Rose Gold has become increasingly popular with its subtle and delicate rose or pinkish color. Platinum is a durable white metal that is more dense than gold. It is also highly recommend for those that have experienced sensitives to other metals.

What is a Nose Ring Backing?

Nose jewelry backings are small, rubber transparent O shaped rings that fit on your nose jewelry. They are used to keep your jewelry securely in place as well as can be used a size adjuster. A nose ring backing is not required to be worn, and are completely optional. As long as you purchase a nose stud that is the right gauge and post length you should not have any issues of it coming out. If you are experiencing issues with the jewelry not staying in place, it is the wrong fit.

How to Use a Nose Ring Backing

Take one index finger and push on the outside of the stud and use your thumb to open your nostril up a bit so that your post is exposed. With your other hand, lay the nose ring backing flat on your index finger and lift it up to the post and slide it onto the post. We would recommend doing it this way rather than trying to put the nose ring backing between 2 fingers, as it's much more difficult to do.
