A major figure in contemporary art between the 1960s and 2000s, the art critic, exhibition curator and mediator raoul-jean moulin was a tireless scout for talent alongside his friend Pierre Restany.

Louis Aragon is the first to have praised his eye and his pen, placed at the service of French letters (1958-1972), ofInternational Opus (1967-1972) and Humanity (1974-1998).

Curator of numerous exhibitions - including that of the French Pavilion at the 36th Venice Biennale in 1972 where he brought together Viseux, Boltanski, Titus-Carmel, Hernandez and Le Gac - a daring traveler determined to make the voice of art heard during the During the Cold War, he made known in France - and beyond - the work of contemporary artists from the former USSR, GDR, Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia – Kijno, Kolar, Mlynarcik, Mihaïlovitch...

At the forefront of creation in France, he was one of the pillars of the Biennale de Paris for 15 years, co-founded the series of Make visible, created Châtillon des arts as well as numerous exhibitions in the Val-de-Marne.

Appointed director of the Val-de-Marne Departmental Contemporary Art Fund in 1982, he built up the important collection at the origin of the MAC VAL, with names such as Asse, Manessier, Debré, Villeglé, Soulages...

Secretary General of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA) and recognized by numerous distinctions, raoul-jean moulin , affected by a serious health accident, donated his archives to the MAC VAL in 2007.

raoul-jean moulin was Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters (1985), National Knight of Merit (1989) and Knight of the Order of the Legion of Honor (2003).

The paper used is a fairly simple paper which has yellowed over time 
(maybe a simple paper tablecloth? used in
 bistros or Parisian restaurants at the time...)

Large folded sheet, wear, small losses and various tears on the folds
I leave everything as is...as found

The part including the drawing is in good condition, paper yellowed but clean, 
a tear on the edge under the signature (without any damage to the signature or the drawing)
 small tears on the upper edge of the sheet
