SC26 1st RAF Night Bomber Sqn Signed by Sir Barnes Wallis. Dambuster Bomb

1 Feb 72 BFPS 1280. 55th Anniversary  of the first RAF Night Bomber Squadron. Cover depicts Vickers Wellington B.Mk 3 No 150 squadron at RAF Snaith in 1942 and RAF Topcliffe  Badge.Flown in  Army Air Corps Beaver XP819 from Snaith to RAF Topcliffe by Major Pullen Royal Anglian Regiment, and flown also in Varsity WF369 of Air Electronics and Air  Engineer School from RAF Topcliffe to RAF Wildenrath, Germany,and return by Sqn Ldr Lawrenson..

Personally Signed by Sir Barnes Wallis.As assistant Chief designer at Vickers - ArmstrongsAviation Section his many contributions included the bouncing bombs used by 617 Squadron to breach the Mohne and Eder Dams in 1923,the 12,000 lb tallboy penetration bomb and 10 ton grand slam bomb as well as the mine - detonating electric coil fitted below Wellingtons.
