Set in the Scottish Highlands where Sophia McLinn makes ends meet by running a summer guest house, and becomes an endangered witness after the murder of her guest's husband.

Wynd, born in Japan to Scottish parents, grew up in Japan, was a Scottish soldier prisoner of war for three years in Japan during WWII, and lived the remainder his adulthood in Scotland.

He was most famous for his novel THE GINGER TREE, which was adapted to a BBC mini-series, as well as a TV series.

Pages tanning as usual, else fine in red linen boards with gilt embossed titles to the spine; in a near fine dust jacket with just a touch of rubbing to the front panel, light rubbing to the upper and lower spine edges, and a tiny tear to the lower edge of the front flap fold; original printed £6.75 price still intact to the front inner flap.
