1962 SALADA-JUNKET COINS. These 1-3/8" diameter plastic coins were issued in packages of Salada Tea and Junket Pudding mix. There are 221 different players available, with variations brining the total of different coins to 265. Each coin has a paper color photo inserted in the front which contains the player's name and position plus the coin number. The plastic rims come in six different colors coded by team. Production began with 180 coins, but the addition of the New York Mets and Houston Colts 45s to the National League allowed the company to expand their set's size. Twenty expansion players were added along with 21 other players. Several players' coins were dropped after the initial 180 run, causing some scarcities. These coins are similar to the Topps, Old London, Armour, Pins, Disc, Jello, Chips and Shirriff coins in the 1960's but are much scarcer because they were issued in boxes of tea and pudding mix
