WW2 japanese military sword shaped pole for flag

When the Japanese army was in full strength and made a final attack (banzai attack) on the enemy lines, the officer holding this flag was used to inspire his men to "follow me" and was also used in military parades.
Old item with period stains, rust, and scratches.
