This rare period-piece contains some remarkable photography with commentary by several of the leading photographers of the day; pictures are the result of Bausch & Lomb's 1903 contest to demonstrate the optical possibilities of their various lenses with emphasis on versatility and detail. Heavyweight, elaborately embossed, dark brown paper cover is tied at the center with cotton cord and has a paste-on Velox photograph of sailing ships. Shows some wear. Small rips on cover. No pages are ripped. Very good overall condition!
