3D Zip pouchs: British made, Lion quality 3D zip pouches in two sizes with a dozen epic fabric choices. Select size: mini makes a fat wallet, large is good for a fistful of small items like that power bank or tinder kit. Alternatively select “both” to get both at a hefty discount.

Select fabrics: Fabric information below. Note all styles labelled “WP” Have a waterproof zip and taped seams and are therefore much more water resistant than the normal ones (although they are a touch heavier).

FABRIC WEIGHTs (lightest to heaviest)

·       1oz DCF (all colours) – mini = 3.3g/0.1oz (6g/0.2oz for the waterproof version). Large= 4.8g/0.15oz (8.5g/0.3oz for the waterproof version)

·       1.43oz DCF (all colours) – mini = 3.9g/0.15oz (6.5g/0.25oz for the waterproof version). Large= 5.9g/0.2oz (9g/0.33oz for the waterproof version)

·       2.92oz DCF (all colours) – mini = 5.3g/0.2oz (7.7g/0.25oz for the waterproof version). Large= 8.8g/0.3oz (12g/0.4oz for the waterproof version)

·       Smoky grey LS07 (liteskin) – mini = 5.3g/0.2oz. Large= 8.8g/0.35oz (no waterproof version)

·       XPAC (all colours) – mini = 6.5g/0.2oz. Large= 11.2g/0.35oz (no waterproof version)

·       100D PURE UHMWPE) – mini = 8.2g/3oz. Large= 12.9g/0.5oz (no non waterproof version)

Fabrics explained 

·       1oz DCF: DCF is composed of some dyneema threads (15X stronger than steel, quantity measured in “XT”) reacted into two sheets of plastic, giving it full waterproofness and extreme strength for negligible weight. 1oz DCF is as light as it gets and needs a little care. 200XT dyneema content. Dyneema is synthesised from plants.

·       1.43oz DCF is the same as 1oz DCF but ~1g heavier and with a 500XT dyneema content. Shedloads of durability (used in bear bags).

·       2.92oz DCF is the same as 1.43oz DCF but with a 50D polyester face to up the durability. 500XT dyneema content. Rucksack fabric tough.

·       Liteskin LS07 is 70D polyester with a non woven resin face, highest abrasion-resistance to weight ratio of basically any fabric. Made by the guys behind XPAC

·       XPAC VX07: a 70D plain woven polyester face with a polymer XPly reinforcement, a 0.25mil PET film for waterproofing, and a 50d polyester taffeta backing.

·       100D PURE UHMWPE: 100% UHMWPE fibre woven and coated, practically impossible to cut. Extremely Durable.

·       Woven Dyneema: A blend of dyneema fibre stabilised with polyester. An extrmly hardwearing and unusually beautiful fabric.

About Wild Sky Gear

Wild Sky Gear was started by Skye McGregor, a British 15 year old who hiked Lands’ End to John O'Groats solo. I hiked through the winter and to keep my pack light started making my own gear and then sold some of the surplus. This turned out to be a bit more successful than I had anticipated, and now I’m constantly sewing.
