The Movie Hollywood Forgot...

In 1974 Columbia Pictures released the film "Buster And Billie" to theaters across the United States.  Originally titled "Black Creek Billie" during production, the film starred a young Jan-Michael Vincent, Joan Goodfellow, Pamela Sue Martin and Robert Englund (the original Freddy Krueger) in his very first movie role.

At the time, film critics were quick to disagree with the violence and subject matter portrayed in the movie, but audiences fell in love with it and Buster And Billie became a cult classic. After the theatrical release, Buster And Billie next appeared on VHS for the home video market in the 1980's and then vanished, leaving only well worn video tape copies and very rare theater 35mm film stock for collectors to watch.

After 45 years, the original masters for Buster And Billie were discovered tucked away by Sony Pictures in three different underground vaults in three different states.  In 2019 work began to restore Buster And Billie, but after almost 50 years underground the condition of the original masters was unknown.  Fortunately, it turned out the film was in excellent condition.  It would take almost a year and a half, and cutting edge technology to fully restore the movie to standard DVD quality.

THE PLOT

A young girl's past comes back to haunt her in this moving story of teenage passion and small town morals.  Set in rural Georgia in 1948.  Buster Lane (Jan-Michael Vincent) one of the handsomest, most popular boys in high school is dating the prettiest girl, Margie Hooks (Pamela Sue Martin).  His only problem is Margie's refusal to make love with him until they are married.  In his frustration he turns to Billie (Joan Goodfellow) a shy farm girl who's allowed herself to be used by all the boys to win their acceptance.  Although Buster's intentions aren't honorable at first, a relationship develops when he discovers a vulnerable beauty in her.  To everyone's dismay they are soon caught up in a tender, passionate love affair - which is destined for an abrupt and tragic twist of fate.
