Victorian childs correction /deportment chair.

In Victorian days posture was very important , especially in young girls . Correction chairs where designed by Surgeon Astley Cooper in 1830,s to prevent bad posture in young children. You had no choice but to sit up straight and the small seat prevented a child from fidgeting. I guess you could say it was an early time out chair also as often these chairs would be in the corner of a classroom as a form of punishment if naughty, And believe me I tried it and yes it is the most uncomfortable Chair you would ever sit on. I have done lots of research but not able to identify the marks and stamp . These chairs are rare , I have found a few on line but none had any makers marks on them. I have been told the 4 little triangle marks are the Caners marks but im not sure . In good Condition for its age just the caning a little damage at the front and slight dip in the cane where small bottoms of children past have been . All pictures form part of the description.
