- 2022 saw the Royal Canadian Mint create a fractional set of Silver Reverse proof Maple Leaf coins. These coins have a very limited mintage and depict Queen Elizabeth II with a different portrait than usually seen on recent modern coinage, as it is more reminiscent of some portraits from earlier in the century. The 1 Ounce coin has been specially refined with diamond particles.
- Sadly, Queen Elizabeth II passed away in September 2022, making these coins one of the last coins depicting the Queen to be made during her lifetime
