Colclough China was founded in the late 1890's by Herbert Colclough, a very innovative and keen potter who was also the mayor of Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. The business expanded and merged with the Ridgway Company in the 1950's and then amalgamated with Royal Doulton during the 1970's. Colclough china is no longer made and so is quite collectable.
Their advertising claimed them to be "Britain's largest manufacturer of Bone China Teaware"
