Antique Forbes Silver Co. USA Quadruple Plate Baby Cup “Mildred".




This is a sweet baby cup made by the Forbes Silver Company in Meriden , CT. Forbes was organized in 1894 as a department of Meriden Britannia Co. The company produced a variety of small silver plated pieces for use by women in the home. They were acquired by the International Silver Company in 1898.


This pretty little baby cup was is ingraved with the name Mildred and decorated with floral and vines. It was made around 1894-1896. In 1896 the company stopped marking the silver quadruple plate. So this piece was made prior to that date. The cup is stamped with the Forbes mark and the style number 46.


The cup has a few little dent along the bottom edge. The silver is worn away and there are dark areas throughout the cup. It is the sweetest little display cup.
