Cowslip rings are rich in
saponins, flavonoids, vitamin C and other compounds. The flowers of this plant
are very valuable – they are especially rich in vitamin C (six Cowslip leaves
and flowers have as much of this vitamin as a person needs per day).
Cowslip preparations are low in toxicity, relieve spasms and promote urinary
excretion.
In bronchitis, strengthening the body in hysteria, paralysis, dizziness,
migraines, insomnia, inflammation of the bladder, diseases of the joints and
various forms of rheumatism.
For these ailments, it is advisable to drink hot Cowslip flowers tea at night
(linden, plantain, chamomile or calendula can be added to it). It is reported
in the literature that preparations of spring Cowslip flowers help people with
allergies and can treat asthma.
This herb grows only in exclusively ecological places and is rarely found.
The plant is not recommended
for use by pregnant women.
Cowslip
infusion is used for the treatment of respiratory diseases, it also inhibits inflammation,
promotes and facilitates expectoration in bronchitis, pneumonia.
In folk medicine, cowslip is used against rheumatism, chest pain, dizziness,
epilepsy, colds, chronic constipation, migraine, also as a sweating-promoting
drug.It is advisable to drink hot tea of cowslip flowers before bedtime against
these ailments (linden-blossom, plantain, chamomile or marigold flowers can be
added to it).
It is recommended for use in patients with hypovitaminosis, anaemia and general
weakness. Relieves and suppresses coughing. The
infusion of crowns separated from the flowers is an effective sedative, it
treats nerve diseases. This preparation is especially effective in overactive
children and those with sleep disorders.

To make an Herbal
Tea:
Put 1-2
teaspoons in a tea strainer and pour freshly boiled water over the tea. Use a
special teapot for making tea. Leave to infuse for 5-10 minutes. Scrape and
serve. If necessary, a teaspoon of natural honey can be added instead of
sweeteners and sugar.
