The Temple Classics series, with Israel Gollancz as General Editor, focused on “accepted classic literature” and predated J M Dent’s Everyman’s Library by a decade. Many volumes were published for the first time between 1897-1907. The result was an elegant series of  'pocket' editions with easily readable type.

Condition: very good; free from inscriptions or annotations; crisp.
