WAY OF SWORD MAKING:
1&The balde was made of Damascus steel,it was Fully hand forged in a completely traditional manner.AISI 1060 High carbon steel and 1095 high carbon steel were smelted and pounded to fold 13 times to creat 8192 layers,Not only can remove the remain impurities of the carbon steel and better distribute the carbon to form the blank,But also allow the layers to bend at rates that differ very,very slightly when lateral (sideways)stress is placed upon the blade. Layering the steel creats resilience (toughness)that makes each par of the blade more likely to bend,and spring back,but not broken.The obvious undulating texture on the balde was resulted from folded repeatedly during forging.
2&The blade would be fully hand shaping,and then heat treating after grinding(rough finishing),then quickly oil and water quenching (tempering) to greatly improve the hardness and flexiblity of the balde.This way allow the layers to cool at different rates during the tempering process,The faster steel cools,the harder it becomes; this is a product of the carbon that is mixed with the steel.The slower steel cools,the softer it remains.This creats a nature mix of hardness and flexibility.
3&Hand shaping the balde after the second time polishing (Finishing the blade),And two long Hi (blood groove) were made on each side of the balde to create a lighter blade while swung and balance it to achive an optimal performance.Meanwhile,engraving services will be implemented in this step.(pls contact us through ebay message if you have somehing engrave on the blade)
4&This blade comes with a full length Tang which greatly enhances the strength of the sword while swung.The tang will be filed to match well with the handle,and it will be signed according to your requirements.(pls contact us through ebay message if you want to sign the DATE or NAME on the Tang)
5&Fully hand polished by our experience swordsmith with more than 14 process hand sharpening work by the multiple grade abrasive stone in the most traditional Japanese craftmanship way.It is sharp to cut off a bottle-thick bamboo.The point of the blade is medium length.(Chu Kissaki)
