Item Description:

RARE Antique Denmark Sterling Silver Mermaid Brooch by Just Andersen - 14 GRAMS!

This item is an antique piece of art by the renowned Danish silversmith Just Andersen (1884-1943) whose works are still displayed in museums across the world today. This piece features a freeform sterling-silver body from which a charm in the form of an elegant mermaid, also in sterling silver, hangs (quite charmingly I might add).

This brooch is very versatile and can be attached to, for example, a jacket-lapel, to jazz up a sweater, to fasten a scarf, to hang as a pendant on a necklace, to accessorize a hair style, to adorn a purse or belt (among other uses).

It measures approximately 2.75" wide by 2" tall and secures with a "modern" safety catch popularized in the early 1900s.

It is hallmarked, signed, and with charm and history secured - perhaps ON a belt ;) - this fine silver estate brooch looks forward to adorning its' new owner!
