A Superb and Rare 3" Solid Cast Bronze Curling Medallion commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Royal Caledonian Curling Club (RCCC) dated 1888. 

A Superb Royal Caledonian Curling Club (RCCC) 50th Jubilee medallion dated 1888, cast in Solid Bronze (weighing 260grams).  This commemorative was a special 50th Anniversary 1838-1888 Jubilee Medallion struck in Solid Bronze. One of these medallions was presented to each member of the RCCC. And so they are rare and highly prized, This Medallion is incredibly Scottish with the Lion Rampant of Scotland seen on a shield with the fleur de leys crowned with the capped by Queen's Crown of Queen Victoria. 

The medal then has in deep relief and in stunning detail Scottish Thistle laurels. On the reverse the medallion has a stunningly detailed outdoor Bonspiel scene with crossed knowe brooms and Curling Stones.  Put simply, this is absolutely stunning.
