This is a very original Gent's presentation wristwatch made by Recta for the retailer "The Gold & Silversmiths Company" which is has originally printed on the dial as well as "Recta" the retailer was a very well regarded company after the second World War and they help lots of contracts to supply like this one for what is now ICI Industries.

The movement is the high grade Recta movement used at this period and the case is a 3 section hand finished case by Dennison's with full Birmingham assay hallmarks for 1952 which would be correct for the assay year before this watch was awarded in 1953.

What amazes me is this gentleman started work for them just before World War 1 and ended just after World War 2, he must have had quite a time and seen so very much.

Sold now as a great vintage watch which is working well but has not been cleaned or serviced and would benefit from a new glass and a polish, but wouldn't we all.

Size: approx 29 mm across without the winding crown & with the lugs it will take an open ended 18 mm strap

Please look at the images closely as they represent an important part of the description, thanks.
