Vintage all original 1886 Samuel A. Crozer signed document from Upland, Delaware County, Delco, Pennsylvania. The document reads "Certificate Of Honor, This Certifies That William Hayes Has Been Placed Upon The Roll Of Honor Of Upland Baptist Sunday School, Jany 1st 1886, Teacher - Mr. P. Lukens, Superintendent - Samuel A. Crozer". Both the teacher and superintendent signed autographed the document. Samuel Aldrich Crozer was the son of John Price Crozer. Samuel was born in 1825 at West Branch, near Crozerville, Aston Township, Delaware County He was the first president of the Delaware County National Bank. John P. Crozer was a prominent Chester Creek mill owner in the mid 1800's and laid the foundations for the present Borough Of Upland. Samuel took over operations of the mills after his father died in 1866. Samuel died in 1910. The Upland Baptist Church is at 325 Main Street Upland. The document measures 12" by 9". It is under glass with a wood backing. The old wood frame is long gone. The glass is taped to the backing to protect the document. The 137 year old document is in good to very good condition with wear to the edges. It has great bright colors and graphics.
