Description
This exceptional antique Burmese silver box has a rectangular form, supported with plain bracket style feet.
The body of this box is embellished with impressive embossed and chased scenes depicting figures, in Burmese style attire, sat conversing and interacting.
The figures are encompassed with plain borders, accented with scale designs to the background.
Each figure design is encompassed with profuse scrolling leaf decoration, in addition to leaf textured borders.
The box is fitted with an impressive domed hinged cover, embellished with further decoration, reflecting that of the body.
This impressive box has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as sterling silver (925, 925/1000).
ConditionThis antique Burmese silver box is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.
The embossed and chased decoration is very sharp.
There are no hallmarks as to be expected with such a piece; the date and origin can be determined by the composition and decoration.
