Eric was born at Fitzsimons Army Hospital October 27, 1963 and grew up in Littleton, Colorado.
He excelled in sports as a left-handed Little League catcher, a top scoring high school basketball star, skier,
runner, and swimmer. Eric attended Colorado State University on an ROTC scholarship where he earned a degree
in accounting. He was commissioned an Infantry Officer in the Army and attained the rank of Major.
His Army service included tours in Korea, Ranger Instructor at the Mountain Ranger Camp in Dahlonega, GA,
 and Infantry Company Commander in the 101st Airborne Division. He was both a Ranger and Senior Parachutist.
Eric left the Army at mid-career to join the FBI as a Special Agent. In addition to serving as a field agent,
he was also an instructor at the FBI Academy, and one of a number of special agents deployed in support
of the global war on terror doing tours in both Afghanistan and Iraq.
