Hay is an absolute essential in the diet of rabbits and nearly all herbivores, so providing them with different ways to access their hay provides them with enrichment.

Unfortunately, most hay feeder bags on the market are made with fabrics that herbivores can't digest, such as cotton or even worse plastic fabrics (fleece etc). As rabbits and other small pets will always nibble at their furnishings, we want your pets to be safe by not ingesting harmful materials. And this is why we use only natural untreated hessian fabric for our feeder bags, as it is non-toxic and digestible, so can never cause intestinal blockages or illness. It is also why we do not machine sew these bags using spun cotton or any other spun threads. We only ever hand-sew using the jute warp and weft from the hessian fabric.

Our heavy-duty bags are made from a tighter weave of hessian than our lightweight open-weave hessian hay bags, making these more durable for use by those pets who tug and pull a lot. This tugging behaviour tends to be more apparent if the hay bag is the only hay feeder provided, or one of just a few. Of course, if you have a pet who chews everything as our Gaia does (although she's never chewed their hay bags), if your pet does chew this, at least they won't be ingesting harmful cottons or plastics!

These bags are supplied empty for you to fill with your own choice of hay. The pictures show then filled with Timothy hay, as an illustration for how they look when filled.

These large bags measure approximately 28cm wide (11 inches) by 32cm high (13 inches), which is ideal for larger rabbits, pairs of rabbits, guinea pigs and chinchillas. They come with small metal clip hooks for you to attach them to the enclosure.

As every item is hand-sewn by us in our own workshop using natural materials, sizes may vary slightly.

About Nature's Goodies:
We believe that our planet and every living creature on it is precious, and that organic, sustainable and responsible manufacturing is the key to achieving the best balance for us all.

For us, practising this ethos starts at home. We have numerous pets (fur babies and shell babies) and we try to only ever feed them organic species-appropriate food, and also try as best as possible to only provide them with natural healthy toys. But too much pet food and too many pet toys on the market are loaded with toxic chemicals. So we started making our own.

And this is now why we produce a range of organic natural and healthy enrichment toys for our beloved pets, so that you too can give your beloved animals the very best.
In the near future we will also be adding a range of organic pet treats and also a range of natural biodegradable items for our gardens designed to enhance and encourage wildlife to thrive.
Thank you for visiting our shop! And do feel free to send us photos of your wee ones playing with Nature's Goodies toys! :)

Natural materials:
As so many of our pets like to chew their toys as they play, we only use natural plant-derived materials which, because they are digestible, will not cause any intestinal blockages.

Many of our materials are harvested from our own organic plot or foraged from natural open woodlands, from where they are 100% free from artificial fertilisers and chemical pesticides. And for those materials we have to source from suppliers, we are careful to buy ethical, sustainable and organic products.

Hand-crafted with care:
All of our products are individually hand-made by us as we craft away in our little workshop. This means we can pay careful attention to detail in each and every item that we make.

Eco-friendly:
We take care of our natural environment, so the only materials that we forage are those which are naturally shed or those which are trimmed during practised woodland management processes that encourage our wild species to thrive. All materials that come from wild locations are very carefully cleaned with organic apple cider vinegar which removes any pathogens to ensure they are totally safe for your pets and our wildlife.

All of the packaging that we use is recyclable, and where ever possible, it is also biodegradable and compostable.
