The Blue Rigi: Lake of Lucerne, Sunrise, 1842.
Turner painted three watercolours of the Rigi, a mountain range in the Alps
in central Switzerland, which he had visited in 1841.  They are widely regarded
as some of his finest works - the watercolours capture the transitory effects
of light and atmospheric conditions at the Rigi.
Produced by the Art Fund in their campaign to save Turner's 'Blue Rigi' for the nation.
The painting was purchased by the Tate Gallery in 2007 with assistance from the National Heritage
Memorial Fund, the Art Fund (with a contribution from the Wolfson Foundation),
and other members of the public through the 'Save the Blue Rigi' appeal.
Smooth matt finish - 15cm x 10.5cm.
Very good condition - Bright, clean and unmarked.
