Description

This magnificent antique Victorian sterling silver champagne cup has a plain bell shaped form to a circular domed, spreading foot.

The surface of this large silver cup is plain and encircled with an applied girdle, in addition to a moulded border to the upper rim.

This impressive Victorian cup is fitted with magnificent feature, imposing scrolling handles; each handle is ornamented with an elevated spiralling handpiece. The handles create exceptional presence and importance to this piece.

By virtue of its size, this versatile cup could accommodate a multitude of champagne bottles and be used as a cooler in addition to an imposing presentation cup.

Such large examples are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.
