This PRE-First Edition book is quite RARE, especially when SIGNED by the author David Carter!!

Condition is as follows: VERY FINE - AS NEW!!   This is a BEAUTY!! 

There is NO WEAR and the POP-UPS ARE STILL UNOPENED and UNREAD (see pictures)

This was signed and dated by David A. Carter at a book signing in 2012 at Powell's Bookstore in Portland, Oregon.  I was there and this was signed in my presence. The picture of David above was taken at a previous signing in NYC that I attended.

This is a 2008 Little Simon First Edition, First Printing - it has the words FIRST EDITION and a complete number string of 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 on the back cover which is the correct indicator for a first printing for this title. 

You can also see there is no ISBN code on the bottom back right corner - this is how the pre-first editions are printed up as an ADVANCE READERS COPY. I purchased this from The Strand Bookstore in NYC before the book came out from their ARC/Advance/Rare room and then had it signed by David Carter at Powells bookstore!

David A. Carter (born March 4, 1957) is an American author and illustrator.  He is best known for his pop-up books for both children and adults. His Bugs series has sold over 6 million copies.

Career

During the late 1970s, Carter worked as a graphic designer and advertising illustrator. Until 1987 he worked as an artist, a paper engineer and a book designer for a publishing house. After this he moved into his current career as an author, illustrator, and paper engineer, primarily of children's books. His first book was How Many Bugs in a Box?. Carter often works with his wife, Noelle Carter. Carter has created more than 90 books, including a guide on how to make pop-ups titled, The Elements of Pop Up. He is to design a hardback book of graffiti design for the British band Coldplay's next album Mylo Xyloto.

Personal life

Carter was born on 4 March 1957, at the L.D.S. Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended Utah State University. His hobbies include gardening, tennis, skiing and travelling. He lives with his wife, Noelle L. Carter in Auburn, California. They have two daughters, Molly and Emma.
