A graded SGC GOOD 2 - 1911 D310 Pacific Coast Biscuit card of Franz Hosp of the Vernon Tigers of the Pacific Coast League.

The D310 series was one of two sets issued by the Pacific Coast Biscuit Company in 1911. The cards have sepia toned photos and measure 2 1/2" x 4 1/4". The backs feature a checklist of players from various teams. The other set issued by Pacific Coast Biscuit was the D311 series that features color photos on cards similar in size to the T206 White Border cards and Obak Minor League issues of the same time period. While the D310 and D311 series cards seem to be much harder to find than the tobacco issues of the same era, the larger size D310 series cards appear to be somewhat scarcer than the smaller sized D311 series.

This example has bold printing, good focus, nice centering and clean borders. The corners are consistent with those found on most VG+/VGEX examples. There are a few very light diagonal creases (approx. 1" long) near the upper left corner. They do not break the paper on the front, and are less pronounced, but still visible on the back. Otherwise, the card appears to be free of any additional creasing. There is a small circular stain (approx. 3/8" in diameter) below the player's name, but it is fairly light and does not detract too much from the overall eye appeal of the card. The back also has a small circular staing (approx. 1/4" in diameter) near the bottom of the card. The is some light discoloration in a few other places on the back, but otherwise the back is fairly clean with bold printing. Even with the flaws, this is still a nice looking card for the grade that would fit nicely into a prewar type collection.
