Scottish Britannia Silver Tumbler Cups - Contemporary

An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of contemporary Scottish Britannia standard silver tumbler cups by Peter Maurice Castle-Smith; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection

Description

These exceptional contemporary Britannia* silver tumbler cups have a plain circular rounded form.

The surface of each piece is plain and has a planished finish.

Read a brief tumbler cups history

* Britannia Silver - The Britannia silver standard of 958 (95.84% of fine silver), denoted by the icon of the seated Britannia holding an oval shield, was introduced by William III in 1697. This was to indicate the slightly higher standard of silver from sterling silver standard of 925 (92.5% of fine silver).

Condition

These tumbler cups in Britannia silver are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

Each cup has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

Full Scottish hallmarks struck to the underside of each piece are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the superior gauge of silver.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this fine example of contemporary silverware.
