'The Lord of the Rings', first editions. Impressions read 8/7/6 in 9/7/6 jackets. This is the 1960s set which means that the FotR is misidentified as 8, but is actually a ninth edition (I believe). See tolkienbooks.net for more information.

If you're looking at this, I'm sure you already know what it is: a very good set of 1960s editions in their original slipcase.

The jackets are mostly in tact with a few closed tears and some bumps, nicks, and fading especially on the spine. The fronts and backs of the jackets have fared much better thanks to the slipcase. They are not price clipped.

The books are also in very good condition, with all maps in tact, and only minor foxing to the pageblock and front/end papers. They have very vibrant red edges thanks to the slipcase.

The slipcase is tanned, but in a good condition with a few closed splits. It still feels very sturdy.

I have included a plethora of HD pictures which can probably tell you more than I can.
