Synopsis
A grandmother tells a story to her granddaughter to explain where the snow that falls on the city comes from. This story begins with a young man called Edward (Johnny Depp) created by an inventor (Vincent Price) living alone in a dark castle perched on a hill. But the inventor dies before he could complete his work, leaving Edward with scissors with extremely sharp blades in place of hands. Edward therefore lives alone in this sinister castle until the day when Peg Boggs (Dianne Wiest), Avon cosmetics representative, discovers the castle and, driven by curiosity, shows up at its door. Seeing that the young man, shy and harmless, lives alone without having the slightest connection with the world around him, she decides to take him to her home located in a quiet residential suburb...
